Welcome ladies, to Jewels for Women, a radio program designed with you in mind. This is Connie Moland.
Jesus’ life on earth along with his teachings demonstrated the original purpose and design for women; their place was to be in God, and they are equal with all people of every race, color and nation. They were to be educated, hearers and doers of the Word where ever God would lead them. Jesus never excluded women by word or by action. He was faithful to emphasize His common standing with women and men.
There was a woman at his cradle; there were three women at the cross as He died and women at the tomb. Mary Magdalene, who had been delivered from many demons, was instructed by Jesus after his resurrection, to go and tell His disciples that He was alive. Therefore, a woman not a man was the first to be given the mandate to go and preach the good news. Minutes later, other women were given the same mandate. In Acts 2 we read of women being part of the 120 people in the upper room waiting for the promise of the Holy Spirit. His mother, Mary, was one of them.
I think of Mary as one who had the privilege of carrying the Savior of the World within her two times; first as a babe growing in her womb. She delivered him into the world and raised him only to have her heart torn in two while watching him die on the cross. Secondly, she was enabled to carry him in her spirit, when she received His Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Her life was no longer about the loss she had experienced, but His life being lived through her eyes, hands, ears, feet, mind, soul and heart. She could live in His power, not her own, she could experience hearing His voice, not only hers. She could feel and experience His unconditional love for herself and others every day. She truly was a blessed woman having known him as her son, teacher, and finally as her Savior.
Ladies, Jesus values each of us, and desires that we also learn from Him and live by the power of His Spirit, demonstrating His love through out our days.
That for today is Jewels for Women, this is Connie Moland.
