Good morning Ladies, welcome to Jewels for Women, a radio program designed with you in mind. This is Connie Moland.
There is a very sad Bible verse found in Hebrews 12:16-17: I quote, “See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears.” Unquote!
Esau, like many of us, thought he could live for the moment, controlled by what he felt like.
It’s easy to live our lives controlled by the demands of our wants and desires, right? What we want right now or what we really care about right now. Each of us is free to make our own choices, but it’s also easy to forget the important truth that after we make our choices, our choices make us. Choices eventually determine our destiny. There are many verses in Scripture that proclaim our freedom but simultaneously they warn us about the principle of what we sow is what we’ll reap.
Here’s a list comparing sowing and reaping:
If we want Power then we must pray
If we want Peace then we must trust
If we want Wisdom then we must study God’s word
If we want Emotional healing then we must forgive others and repent of sin
If we want Joy then we must be grateful
If we want Health then we must care for our body
If we want financial security then we must tithe
If we want Victory over sin then we must establish accountability
If we want abundant life then we must walk in obedience
God’s love is unconditional, but his promises are reserved for those who choose to walk in obedient. Through Christ, God has set our spirit free, that’s a done deal, but if we want to restore our soul, we must cooperate with Him. Oh Father God, please help us to cooperate with you in the ways You have shown us! Amen.
That for today is Jewels for Women. This is Connie Moland.
