A Daughters of the King Conference was held in 2005 in Grand Forks, North Dakota with Shampa Rice, from Calcutta, India, as the guest speaker. Shampa and her husband, John, are founders of the Jacob Generation Ministry in Calcutta, India.
Shampa shared about women of northern India who also desired to have a women’s conference for hearing God’s Word, for fellowship with other believers and to receive encouragement. However, women of northern India were without funds for hosting a conference.
Women of northern Minnesota and North Dakota responded in love and generosity giving enough finances to completely support a conference in northern India, which was held the following spring of 2006.
Shampa invited Connie to go along and help with speaking and teaching.
Going to India was not on Connie’s
wish list, but God clearly directed her
to go. She was amazed to find herself
on the other side of the world being
part of both a Women’s Conference
as well as a Pastors’ Conference.
One of Connie’s desires was to also
visit Chiang Rai, Thailand to simply
bless and encourage a number of
missionaries there which was made
possible after the conference in India.
Again, women from Minnesota and
North Dakota generously provided
gifts to share with the missionaries.
Two years later five more women
traveled with Connie to Chiang Rai,
Thailand where they hosted the very
first conference for Christian Thai's and missionaries in that city.
